Nangoku Agriculture Development was established in 2017 as a joint venture between Bayon and Nangoku Kosan, a Japanese animal feed/fertilizer producer. The company operates a fertilizer factory, situated on three hectares of land along National Road 51 in Kandal province. The factory produces 30,000 tons of organic fertilizer per year.

Fertilizer manufacturer Nangoku Agriculture Development (Japan-Cambodia) Joint Venture Co., Ltd, launched operations since 2016 with the aim of supplying locally manufactured fertilizers Cambodian farmers at affordable prices.

Cambodia presently imports about 700,000 tones of fertilizer a year mostly from neighboring country. The fertilizer market in Cambodia is evolving rapidly to meet farmers’ demand. It is a free market, led by a competitive private sector with prices determined by market forces. Fertilizer supply has increased rapidly in response to high demand prompted by the shift towards crop intensification.

Establishing the factory is due to the demand for fertilizer to increase agricultural output. It help farmer reduce their expense as they spend quite a lot in buying costly imported fertilizers.

Cambodia’s Bayon Heritage Holding Group Co., Ltd holds a 60 percent stake in the $2.2 million joint venture with partner Japanese feed and fertilizer producer Nangoku Kosan Co., Ltd. The company had built a fertilizer plan on three hectares of land along National Road 51 in Kandal province. The factory produce up to 30,000 tonnes of organic fertilizer per annum.
